The annual Assistant Appreciation Luncheon recognizes the hard work and support that media assistants do for their organizations. This luncheon is a part of our professional development program and is in line with our mission statement by providing a motivational and inspirational “self-made” speaker to share their experience on success and perseverance.

Tiffany Taylor Chen, Owner
Tiffany, President of Tiff’s Treats, co-founded the nation’s first warm cookie delivery company with Leon Chen out of a college apartment at the University of Texas in 1999. She has spent the past 20+ years growing the company from a two person home based business to 61 locations and counting, with 1500 employees across Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina, and has raised $75 million in funding along the way for further expansion. Tiffany graduated with a BS in Advertising from the University of Texas. Tiff is now married to Leon, and the pair live in Austin and are parents to six year old twins.

Terri Gruca, Anchor and Investigative Reporter
Terri Gruca is a veteran anchor and investigative reporter for Austin’s own KVUE. The recipient of numerous awards, Terri provides compelling, yet straightforward news coverage. Over the years, she has covered hurricanes, a training exercise between Russian and U.S. troops, the Minneapolis bridge collapse, and also interviewed President Barack Obama at the White House. Among the results of Terri’s intriguing investigative reports are the proposal of two federal bills, the largest nationwide recall of children’s toys and jewelry in history, and a new federal law banning lead from all toys. A wife and mother of three boys, Terri’s interests include college sports, volunteering, exploring the Hill Country, and cooking.
